Nephew Introduces his Uncle to Broadband Internet

Eddie needed some money so he could move across the country and live with his girlfriend. He was living at home in a small resort town that didn't have many great job opportunities available and the summer season was winding down. The pace of the place picked up a little when the leaves changed color in the fall but after that it was the doldrums until around Christmas. If you didn't have a year round job, you were hard pressed to make enough money to pay the rent during those times. Fortunately rent wasn't a problem for Eddie, but he would have no success saving any money to go and live with his girlfriend.

He did have one option however, and that was to go and live with his uncle who managed a construction company. He and his uncle had had disagreements before, but his uncle owed him a favor and the money working the construction was really good compared with Eddie's typical salary. He called up the uncle and asked for the temporary job so he could make enough money to go be with his girlfriend and have money to spend if he didn't find a job immediately. The uncle willingly obliged, and Eddie moved over a couple of weeks later.

The uncle lived in the same town where Eddie had lived as a boy, and it was the town where his grandmother still lived. He had two places that he could live for free and he had a little trouble deciding which one. His grandmother was a wonderful person but she went to bed early and she didn't have cable or high speed internet. His uncle also went to bed early but he could be quite grumpy, but he did have satellite television but no broadband internet either. Eddie often stayed up late and loved watching TV, so he chose to stay with his uncle.

Much to both of their surprise, things worked out quite well with Eddie living out at his uncle's house. His uncle went to bed after dinner and Eddie had the television to himself. One thing he did not have, however, was internet access and after a few weeks this really began to wear him out. The only place there was internet access was at the construction office, and that was usually locked up by the time Eddie finished his shift.

His uncle lived a little ways out of town where there was no cable television or internet access, which was the reason that he had satellite television. After eddie had been there a little more than a month, he felt that his comfort level was at the point where he could ask his uncle about getting internet, so he did one night. Surprisiingly his uncle agreed, as long as Eddie paid for the service. He said this would not be a problem and he called to get them set up the next day.

After that, Eddie had no more complaints about living out at his uncle's house. His uncle even started bringing his laptop home from work and surfing the web at home.  After that he offered to start paying for some of the bill and when Eddie eventually he did leave to go and live with his girlfriend, his uncle opted to keep the high speed satellite internet.
